NEBRASKA FFA: GROWING LEADERS, BUILDING COMMUNITIES, CREATING CAREER CONNECTIONS
We are addressing the growing needs of students, teachers, and agricultural education programs to ensure that Nebraska FFA and local agricultural education programs have the necessary resources to cultivate bright futures for tomorrow's leaders. The Nebraska FFA Foundation supports our youth leaders, local agriculture, as well as rural and urban communities by investing in agricultural education and FFA for nearly 12,000 FFA members and their advisors in Nebraska. We do this by growing leaders, building communities and creating career connections.
WHY WE NEED YOUR DONATION
In growing leaders, the Nebraska FFA Foundation continues to support teachers through professional development funding. Your financial investment provides professional development opportunities that help to strengthen teachers’ skills and knowledge, whether they’re teaching agriculture equipment, maintenance and technology; animal science, plant science or food science and safety. In building communities, the Nebraska FFA Foundation Grant continues to fill the gaps between local resources and what it takes to maintain quality programming. Your support helps students participating in FFA and agriculture education classes to get hands-on experience and have ownership of projects, like preserving pollinators in Nebraska. This education and outreach project is led by students at The Career Academy in Lincoln where students developed an engaging and educational presentation, built bloom boxes, and installed gardens with native pollinator plants. Students applied their learning from introductory agriculture classes, as well as horticulture, greenhouse management, crop science and food science classes to educate their community about how beneficial and important pollinators are. In creating career connections, Nebraska FFA members continue to get hands-on experience in welding laboratories. Your donation helps agriculture education students at Mead prepare for work outside of the classroom with renovations to six welding booths. This allows students to take charge of their learning through different types of welds including oxy-acetylene, arc, MIG and TIG. Students learn at their own pace in a safer, more efficient, and up-to-date lab, allowing more students to gain experience that can help them in future careers. We are committed to the day when we have successfully addressed the growing needs of agricultural education students, teachers and programs so Nebraska FFA and local agricultural education programs have all the resources they need to cultivate a bright future for leaders of tomorrow who will be the entrepreneurs, the workforce, the advocates, and the leaders in our communities. Your support is essential in this effort!
